Saxahontas Entertainment is a company like no other when it comes to the independent entertainment industry.  CEO and founder, Saxahontas, started with a dream after high school of becoming a performer, producer, director, and writer as well as fulfill her passion to help others succeed.  She went on to graduate from Hinds Community College- Utica Campus as well as Jackson State University with degrees in Music and Mass Communication.  Unfortunately, her life soon took a devastating turn after being diagnosed with Sjogren's Syndrome and Lupus. Her dream soon became a thing of her past as illness began to affect her cognitive ability to comprehend, write, and play music. Still having drive and determination to help others, she decided teaching learners with special needs was what her heart was leading her to do. Now moving into a totally different career path, she obtained her teaching master's certificate from Mississippi State University. On her path as a special educator, she was encouraged by her Godbrother, a fellow saxophone player who was also a band director, to play music again. With much anxiety, but a great deal  of determination, Saxahontas began to do just that.  In order to challenge herself, she decided to perform with Epic Funk Brass Band after receiving an invitation to come sit in with the band.  She started using music as her own therapy when preparing for her classes and later incorporated it into her teaching style. She later began performing individual gigs as well as collaborate with others musically.  Over time she decided to air her own radio show. Wanting to explore as many avenues in music as possible, Saxahontas also set out to open her own night club, but with COVID-19 shutting down restaurants and other venues, it was impossible to profit in that form of entertainment.  So, she decided to promote her own virtual club.  With all of this, she still wanted more.  Having a TV show just seemed perfect.  She now had found her way back into the world of performing, producing, directing, and writing- all still while helping others succeed.
